How does laser tattoo removal work?
When you initially received your tattoo, ink was deposited between your epidermis and your dermis; this ink continues to reside in “INK” form. With laser technology, we target the ink changing it to a crystal form. Your body will naturally recognize the crystal as a foreign substance and dispose of it over a period of time.
How many Treatments will it take?
This depends; your removal process will begin with a free consultation with one of our Medical Aestheticians. The number of required treatments is dependent on several factors, including depth of ink penetration, age of the tattoo and color intensity – that is, lighter versus darker colors. Also, each individual’s immune system is different. On average, three to eight treatments are necessary, but results will vary.
Are there any side effects to treatment?
As with getting a tattoo, there is a small amount of pain; removal of a tattoo is similar. Side effects are minimal.
Does the laser cause scarring?
No; the laser targets the ink not your skin.
What types of tattoos can be removed?
While certain pigments and inks are harder to erase than others, the majority of colors can be removed – including black, blue, green, brown and even red.
Can I lighten an existing tattoo?
Yes. In fact, most professional tattoo artists suggest laser technology to lighten a tattoo before doing an effective cover up.
How much does it cost?
During your initial consultation with one of our Medical Aestheticians, we will estimate the number of treatments your tattoo will need based on it’s size and color intensity. We will measure the number of square inches of solid ink, not the whole area. We charge $45 per square inch of solid ink with a minimum fee of $99 per treatment.
Will my tattoo be removed permanently?
Results vary because each person’s immune system is different. Aspen Laser Spa is confident in the technology we use which works hand in hand with your immune system to obtain the best results possible. Most tattoos can be removed completely but Aspen Laser Spa cannot guarantee this on an individual basis.
